"So great to experience their Care & Concern of My Comfort, Because I was just Afraid to Go to the Dentist Period . THE DR. WAS SO CALM THAT HELP ME TO RELAX SOME. TY MINT"- K.Y. / Google / Oct 14, 2021
"This was my first time at this location. Let me first say, I have yet to go to an office that didn’t feel and look amazing. I mean we all dread being in a Dr. Office. My check in time was expeditious. Completed my paperwork and my name was called shortly after. Most dental offices are cold and stiff. I appreciated the personable attendants and dentist as well. I’ve been with the Mint Brand for a few years now and won’t be changing for a while!!! Thank you for changing the way you #DENTIST"- D.B. / Google / Oct 06, 2021

"I went in to Mint Dentistry to have a wisdom tooth pulled. My entire visit was great from beginning to end. Very clean and comfortable waiting area. The staff was friendly and helpful. The dentist ran into some difficulty getting the tooth out because of an infection but she was patient and did and excellent job. I would definitely recommend Mint Dentistry to my friends and family."- E.B. / Google / Aug 17, 2021
Oral-conscious sedation can often be used to help younger patients and adults who have fears and anxieties that keep them from going to the dentist. Before you are prescribed a medication for oral-conscious sedation, our team will need to complete a thorough consultation to determine if you are a good candidate. We will review your medical history, current medications, and other factors to ensure you can safely take an anti-anxiety medication and decide which type will be best for your needs. Oral sedation may not be performed if you have breathing or heart problems, you are pregnant, or you have had an allergic reaction to similar medications.
What to Expect
Your doctor will prescribe one of many different types of medication for your oral-conscious sedation. The type recommended by MINT dentistry will depend on your level of anxiety, your physical health, what procedure is being performed, and the estimated length of your appointment. Your medication will be prescribed during your consultation, so you can have it filled before your procedure. Since you need to take it before arriving, you should arrange to have a friend or family member take you to your appointment. With light sedation, you will remain relaxed but awake. With moderate sedation, you will also stay conscious, but you may think you were asleep because you may not remember what happened. You may fall into a light sleep but you should wake up easily. Your team will make sure you feel safe and comfortable during your visit.
How you will feel after sedation will depend on the medication you were prescribed. You will need to arrange for a friend or family member drive you home from our office and stay with you for at least 2 – 4 hours while the medication wears off. Your dentist will warn you about possible side effects from the specific medication prescribed for you. Most commonly, patients experience temporary headaches, dizziness, nausea, or vomiting after oral-conscious sedation. The risk of nausea and vomiting can be reduced by having a light meal before taking the medication and eating a snack about one hour after your procedure. If you are concerned about symptoms, please contact our office for further instructions.
