"Great experience! I got my first filling and didn’t have any pain. They even used numbing cream for my deep cleaning. Staff was friendly and helpful! Would definitely recommend to anyone seeking a new dentist."- C.C. / Google / Apr 17, 2021
"In all honesty I am only giving 5 Stars because my Second experience was so much better than my First. Also because Taylor is amazing!!!! I booked an appointment at the Arlington location for a deep cleaning. The first Dentist that came in to numb my teeth was friendly but I have to say that the numbing process was terrible, I screamed and cried so horribly from the pain and discomfort. I was then introduced to the Amazing Taylor who deep cleaned my teeth. Taylor was very professional, honest, caring and I truly felt that he had my best interest at heart. He gained my trust very quickly. He was very discreet and checked on my mental state of mind the entire time. In fact this hygienist was so great that I decided to schedule my second appointment for deep cleaning at the Dallas location because Taylor is mobile and was scheduled to be in Dallas. I highly recommend this guy to anyone needing a thorough deep cleaning and I Salute Mint Dentistry for hiring him, Great choice!"- B.H. / Google / Apr 10, 2021

Oral-conscious sedation can often be used to help younger patients and adults who have fears and anxieties that keep them from going to the dentist. Before you are prescribed a medication for oral-conscious sedation, our team will need to complete a thorough consultation to determine if you are a good candidate. We will review your medical history, current medications, and other factors to ensure you can safely take an anti-anxiety medication and decide which type will be best for your needs. Oral sedation may not be performed if you have breathing or heart problems, you are pregnant, or you have had an allergic reaction to similar medications.
What to Expect
Your doctor will prescribe one of many different types of medication for your oral-conscious sedation. The type recommended by MINT dentistry will depend on your level of anxiety, your physical health, what procedure is being performed, and the estimated length of your appointment. Your medication will be prescribed during your consultation, so you can have it filled before your procedure. Since you need to take it before arriving, you should arrange to have a friend or family member take you to your appointment. With light sedation, you will remain relaxed but awake. With moderate sedation, you will also stay conscious, but you may think you were asleep because you may not remember what happened. You may fall into a light sleep but you should wake up easily. Your team will make sure you feel safe and comfortable during your visit.
How you will feel after sedation will depend on the medication you were prescribed. You will need to arrange for a friend or family member drive you home from our office and stay with you for at least 2 – 4 hours while the medication wears off. Your dentist will warn you about possible side effects from the specific medication prescribed for you. Most commonly, patients experience temporary headaches, dizziness, nausea, or vomiting after oral-conscious sedation. The risk of nausea and vomiting can be reduced by having a light meal before taking the medication and eating a snack about one hour after your procedure. If you are concerned about symptoms, please contact our office for further instructions.
